PHOTOGRAPHY BOOKMAKING & DARKROOM PRINTING WORKSHOP with Matt Martin (@toner.pz , Penzance) & Contact Darkroom (Totnes) Saturday, 24th Jan 2026 - 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM at Contact Darkroom, Totnes. Join photographer and bookmaker Matt Martin for a full-day, hands-on workshop combining bookmaking and darkroom printing at CONTACT in Totnes. You’ll design and construct your own 8x10” artist book bound using a French link stitch and finished with a hard cover. Then you will handprint 40 black and white photographs created through laser printed acetates & contact printing.

By the end of the day, you’ll leave with a complete handmade photobook — from design and structure to printed imagery and final assembly.

Our first exhibition since opening Contact will feature the captivating work of Paul Newton, DOP, photographer, and carpenter, created during a recent trip to the Souss-Massa region of Morocco. The series captures lone figures and a dusty, sun-worn palette, printed and shaped through the colour dials of our De Vere 504 enlarger. Paul has printed and hand-framed every piece in the show, bringing his craft into every stage of the process.

If you’re in the Totnes area on December 6th, 16:00–21:00, come by, enjoy a glass of wine from @rossototnes and share in the visual bliss.
